On April 22nd, Sanford kept the score tight against the Archmere boys lacrosse team for the first half of their game, but the final two minutes of the half and all of the second half belonged to the Auks. Archmere scored six straight goals to take control in a 14-5 road win over the Warriors.
With a 4-4 tie right before halftime, Wyatt Beekley '28 won the ensuing face-off, and the Auks held on to the ball. Jonah Kuzinski '26 converted a pass from Aidan Mahoney '25 to restore the Archmere lead. With time winding down, David Pinto '25 rebounded his own shot on goal and scored with six seconds remaining. Immediately in the second half, Quin Duncan '28 started the score board for the Auks, coming out from the X position and going high. Aidan Mahoney '25 was next, cutting down the middle and taking a pass from David Pinto '25 for the goal with the Auks a man up.
From then on, Archmere held a comfortable lead. Quin Duncan added two of the remaining goals to finish with three for the afternoon.
Aidan Mahoney led the Auks with five goals, and David Pinto also had multiple goals with two. Goalie Zidane Brena recorded 11 saves. Archmere improved to 7-1 and will travel to Delaware Military on April 29th for a 3:45 p.m. face-off.
