Second semester has gotten off to a great start in College Counseling. Over the next three weeks we will engage with every student in the Archmere community with class appropriate conversations about college and topics on the periphery of the college search and application process.
Seniors
The next round of application decisions began to drop in the second half of January. Students have, or will receive, decisions from Miami, Villanova, Richmond, Rutgers, and James Madison to name a few.
Semester grades will become official next week and College Counseling will forward them to all schools that seniors have an active application at. The only schools that will not receive a transcript are those that we did not send an original to (self report schools). Colleges have begun to request updated grades from students, we will forward as soon as we possibly can. Students who saw a defer decision in early action or early decision should consider a point-of-contact after grades are sent and can reference out
Defer Guide.
On February 5th, there is a special schedule and seniors will participate in the Young Alumni Networking programs. We will welcome 15 - 20 young alumni to share their college and career journeys will seniors in a networking setup at the Patio.
Juniors
All Junior Introductory meetings have been completed and we’ve passed Cycle 1 College Seminar Classes. This cycle we discussed students’ reasons for going to college, how the search process starts with students - not colleges, and discussed that ‘why’ questions are a challenge.
