Global Studies Updates

Over President's Day weekend, Global Studies Coordinator Tim Dougherty traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, on a trip provided by Worldstrides, the travel company guiding Archmere students to Iceland over Easter break. A side trip to Chamonix, France, took Mr. Dougherty (and twenty other teachers from around the country) by cable car to the frigid peak of Mont Blanc, at 15,766 ft the highest point in the Alps and Western Europe. Something of a practice trip with the company, Mr. Dougherty has a better grasp of what Worldstrides will provide to Archmere in Iceland.

Though a student trip to an icy European mountaintop probably won't be happening in the future, a journey to Eastern Europe this upcoming Thanksgiving certainly is. Mr. Dougherty recently announced--and held a parent Zoom to discuss--a November trip to Prague, Kosice, and Budapest where students will visit Norbertine schools and abbeys, perform service in communities, and experience the food and culture of these Eastern Europe locations. And there are more trips being planned for 2026, so stay tuned for more Global Studies news!
