On Saturday, January 27th, the Archmere boys basketball team took on Tower Hill on the road at the Carpenter Field House. With just 4:21, Charlie Malloy '25 hit a three-point shot, one of his four of the night, to give the Auks the lead. After an exciting back and forth battle, Archmere claimed the 46-38 win.
Tower Hill held a 32-20 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. According to Mike Lang of the Dialog, "The teams went nearly two and a half minutes into the final quarter before Drew Duncan tied it up with two free throws. After they traded buckets, the Auks took the lead on Malloy’s three after a rebound at the other end by Miles Kempski."
With 2:35 to go, Drew Duncan '24 grabbed an offensive rebound and the basket. On the very next possession, Archmere's defense was able to force the turnover. Archmere held the ball until there was just 1:18 to go, as the Hillers had to commit three fouls to get into the penalty and send the Auks to the line. Miles Kempski '24 finished the scoring with two free throws in the closing seconds.
In total, Charlie Malloy '25 led the Auks with 18 points, and Drew Duncan '24 had 12. Archmere (6-5) is on the road on January 30th at A.I. DuPont at 4:45 p.m.
