Carsten Kaiser '24 Leads Baseball Win over St. Elizabeth's with No-Hitter
Behind senior Carsten Kaiser's no-hitter and dominant offense by junior Charlie Malloy and 9th grade catcher Hunter Skelton, the baseball team defeated St. Elizabeth, 10-0, in five innings on April 9th at home. Carsten allowed just one base runner on a walk and recorded seven strikeouts. In his two starts, he has pitched eight innings without allowing a hit, and has struck out 15.
After a stagnant first two innings, Archmere scored two in the third, one on a bases-loaded walk, and the other on a single, paving the way for their victory and an undefeated record.
Mike Lang wrote, "Archmere scored seven in the fifth to end the game. Catcher Hunter Skelton walked to start the inning, and Ryan Smith came in as a courtesy runner. After Dylan Thompson reached base and the two runners executed a double steal, Charlie Malloy brought both home with a double to center field."
In total, Archmere recorded eight hits; junior Charlie Malloy was the only player with more than one hit. Junior Jonathan O’Boyle scored twice. Archmere will be the home team in its next game against Salesianum on Thursday night at 6:30pm at Frawley Stadium.
