84 Archmere Students Named AP Scholars

Eighty-four students at Archmere Academy have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams.

                
Eight students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. These students are from the Class of 2013 – Jason Andrechak, Priya Bhaidaswala, Teresa Ceballos, Edward Gomes, Kurt Hill, Andrew Mascioli, and Peter Zdunek and from the Class of 2014 - Brian Zhang.

Thirty students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are from the Class of 2013 – Jason Andrechak, William Bauer, Priya Bhaidaswala, Sarah Blyth, Teresa Ceballos, Melissa Cirillo, Thomas DePietro, Julia Donovan, Edward Gomes, Stephen Haley, Kurt Hill, Colleen Kirkwood, Charles Kraft, Andrew Mascioli, Meghan O’Keefe, Thomas Porth, Christina Reilly, Patrick Reilly, Corinne Sullivan, Victoria Sylvestre, Mary Tobin, Eric Wang, and Peter Zdunek and from the Class of 2014 - Zixin Cao, Kelcey Hutchinson, Jonathan Lobo, Evan Rapone, Colton Takata, Brian Zhang, and Justine Zhang.

Nineteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are from the Class of 2013 – Megan Diggins, Kathryn Fosbenner, Evan Guerin, John Mascioli, Patrick McBride, Conor Monigal, Thomas O’Donnell, George Salmons, and Kayla Varela and from the Class of 2014 – Julia Beranato, Elizabeth Burton, Nicholas Costa, Benjamin Creekmore, Michael Esposito, Jack Malloy, Miranda Mazzio, Rebecca Peet, and Kevin Reardon and from the Class of 2015 – Mark Melvin.

Thirty-five students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are from the Class of 2013 – Laura Behm, Shannon Boswick, Maya Donnelly, Olivia Garcia, Bailey Gorelick, William McCarthy, Tyler Morales, Benjamin Murray, Emily Rothenbacher, and Evan Turek and from the Class of 2014 – Olivia Arasim, Michael Bannon, Lucy Barr, Nathan Beatson, Margaret Bree, Cierrah Doran, Michael Ford, Emily Fuginiti, Collin Graf, Andrew Hahm, Maryanna Lynch, Clee Malfitano, Caitlin Marky, Alexandra Nielsen, Claire Orzel, Mannat Sawhney, Christopher Smith, Allison Sullivan, Alexis Ulmanis, Liam Walsh, and N’Dea Yancey-Bragg and from the Class of 2015 – Meibin Chen, Matthew Oslin, Payas Parab, and Raylin Xu.

These students have at least one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About 18 percent of the more than 1.9 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams.
