Volleyball Defeats Defending State Champions in Season Opener
On September 5, the Archmere volleyball team traveled to Smyrna High School to take on the Eagles at home. All three teams: the freshman, JV and Varsity, recorded wins on the road. Varsity was led by Ava Beach '25, who recorded 10 kills, 5 digs, and 10 aces in the 3-0 win over defending champion Smyrna. Grace Mahoney '27 was right behind her with 9 kills, and Bridget Malloy '26 with 5. Maddie Frampton '27 lead the team with 12 digs.
Senior captain Ava Beach's outstanding performance was recognized as a contender for Delaware Live's "Athlete of the Week". Sponsored by Premier Physical Therapy, Delaware Live showcases memorable student performances each week through an online nomination and voting process.
