Interest Meeting for Nicaragua Trip in November
Archmere's Global Studies Program is very excited by all the opportunities it continues to offer students. By the end of Easter 2024, Archmere will have traveled to Belize, France, India, and the British Isles over 12 months. Are we going to Costa Rica over Easter break in 2026? It looks like a real possibility. But we hope that the next available trip, in 9 months, is to Nicaragua in November 2024. We need students to join forces with Wilmington's
Neighbors to Nicaragua program to tutor young students in Spanish, engage in some exploration of the region, and maybe perform some local service. Who wants to climb a volcano and so some ziplining?
Thursday, March 14, is a tag day to support
Neighbors to Nicaragua, and on that same day, Chuck Selvaggio, the founder of the organization, will visit Archmere during the Work Period to talk about his work and a trip to the barrio, Nueva Esperanza, where his school is located. Students who would like to attend this informational meeting should
sign up here and click the RSVP NOW button.
Mr. Dougherty, Global Studies Coordinator, will announce the location of the meeting the week of March 11 based on the number of registered attendees. This trip would count toward the
Global Studies Diploma.
