Track and Field Cleans Up at Twilight Invitational
On Friday the Auks Track and Field teams competed at the Twilight Invitational held at A.I. High School. Top performances went to Colleen Carney, Luke Jordan and Brendan Tarte. Colleen won the 2 mile run with a time of 10:56. Her performance places her 13th on the state's all-time 2 mile list and qualifies her for the emerging elite 2 mile at the national meet. Luke Jordan had the fasted mile in the boys 4x1600 meter race with a time of 4:56. This time would qualify him for the state meet 1600. Brendan Tarte also ran a qualifying standard 1600 in 4:57 and later would hit the state qualifying mark for the 800 with a time of 2:09. The team will compete at the Penn Relays this week and the Unionville Invitational this weekend.
