Mastersingers Invited to Perform at Carnegie Hall

The award-winning Archmere Academy Mastersingers, under the director of Mr. David Ifkovits, have been chosen to return to Carnegie Hall in New York to be the featured high school choir at the National Youth Choir Festival on Sunday, March 15, 2015.

The Mastersingers will be performing a solo concert, in addition to performing as part of the National Youth Choir, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Seelig, the Grammy award-winning conductor of Turtle Creek Chorale.

The National Youth Choir is made up of 7-10 choirs from across the country who were invited to send in audition material before being chosen to participate. In order to be considered for the honor of featured solo choir, groups were also invited to send in recordings of their groups from 2010 through present day.

After submitting the required audition materials, the Archmere Academy Mastersingers were selected to be the only solo featured choir. This will be the second time the choir has earned this honor, the first being in April of 2013.
