Archmere Students Perform at the University of Delaware for the Chinese New Year

On Sunday, February 22nd, The Confucius Institute and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association invited the University of Delaware campus community and the public to a special celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Goat, on UD’s Newark campus.  Eight students represented Archmere: Ryan Lairdieson '17, Daniel Bannon '15, Matthew Oslin '15, Catherine Falkenstein '17, Olivia O’Dwyer '17, Anna Martino '18, Nikoleta Testa '18 and Rachel Grant '18.  The students were accompanied by Archmere Chinese instructor, Ms. Kezhen Yang.

The celebration featured various art performances including traditional Chinese singing, folk and pop dances, musical instruments, Chinese Crosstalk, (Xiangsheng), martial arts and professional Peking Opera performances. The Archmere students presented Chinese song and also participated in a dynasty costume show.
